PrivacyVeil

Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

PrivacyVeil does not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal data. All text processing occurs locally in your browser. We have no servers that receive your data, no analytics that track your behavior, and no way to access the words you protect.

1. Who we are

PrivacyVeil is a Chrome browser extension developed by Tis Enough Studio. This privacy policy covers both the PrivacyVeil browser extension and the website at privacyveil.app.

2. Data we collect

2.1 Extension

The PrivacyVeil extension collects and processes zero personal data. Specifically:

Data type Collected? Explanation
Text you paste into AI chats No Processed locally in your browser only. Never sent to any server.
Your protected words/filters No Stored in Chrome's local storage on your device only.
Browsing history No The extension only activates on specific AI chat sites listed in the manifest.
Analytics / telemetry No No analytics scripts, no usage tracking, no error reporting.
Cookies No The extension does not set or read any cookies.
Account information No No account creation required. Pro license keys are validated via Lemon Squeezy's API and stored locally.
IP address No The extension makes no network requests except for Pro license validation (see Section 3).

2.2 Website (privacyveil.app)

The PrivacyVeil website is a static page that makes no third-party requests. Specifically:

The "AI Privacy Checker" tool on the website processes text entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The text you paste is never sent to any server and is discarded when you navigate away or close the tab.

2.3 Hosting

The website may be hosted on a platform that processes server access logs (IP addresses, timestamps, requested URLs) as part of standard web hosting. This is necessary for the legitimate interest of maintaining website security and availability. These logs are managed by the hosting provider and are not accessed or used by PrivacyVeil for any purpose. See your hosting provider's privacy policy for details.

3. Pro license validation

When a user activates a Pro license key, the extension makes a single HTTPS request to Lemon Squeezy's API (api.lemonsqueezy.com) to validate the key. This request contains:

No other data (browsing data, protected words, text content, IP addresses) is included in this request. The license key and validation status are stored locally in Chrome's storage. Lemon Squeezy's own privacy policy applies to their processing of the license key: lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.

4. Data storage

All data stored by the extension is kept locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage APIs:

You can delete all stored data at any time by removing the extension from Chrome. No data survives uninstallation.

5. Data sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose any data to any third party. There is no data to share because we do not collect any.

6. Your rights under GDPR

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights. Because PrivacyVeil collects no personal data, most of these are satisfied by default:

If you believe your rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Children's privacy

PrivacyVeil does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 16. Because the extension processes no personal data and requires no account creation, there is no age-related data collection concern.

8. International transfers

PrivacyVeil does not transfer any data internationally. All processing occurs locally on your device. The only external request (Pro license validation) is made to Lemon Squeezy's servers, which operate under their own data processing agreements.

9. Security

Because all data remains on your device, security is inherently tied to your browser and operating system security. The extension:

10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, if the changes affect data collection practices (which currently do not exist), we will notify users through the extension's update mechanism.
