1. What PrivacyVeil is

PrivacyVeil is a Chrome browser extension that helps you protect sensitive information when using AI chat tools. It works by replacing words you choose to protect with placeholder labels before the text reaches the AI, and restoring the originals when you copy the AI's response.

PrivacyVeil is a productivity tool, not a security product. While it helps reduce the risk of accidentally sharing sensitive data with AI services, it does not provide encryption, access control, or data loss prevention in the enterprise security sense. It is not a substitute for professional information security measures, legal advice, or compliance programs.

2. Acceptance of terms

By installing the PrivacyVeil extension or using the PrivacyVeil website (privacyveil.app), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the product.

3. Plans and pricing

Prices are in US dollars and may be subject to applicable taxes (VAT/sales tax) depending on your jurisdiction. Tax handling is managed by our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy.

4. Payment and billing

4.1 Payment processor

All payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, LLC), which acts as the Merchant of Record. This means Lemon Squeezy handles billing, sales tax/VAT collection, invoicing, and payment dispute resolution. By purchasing a Pro subscription, you also agree to Lemon Squeezy's terms of service.

4.2 Subscription

The Pro plan is a monthly subscription. Your subscription renews automatically each month on the anniversary of your purchase date. You can cancel at any time from your Lemon Squeezy customer portal.

4.3 License key

Upon purchase, you receive a license key that you enter in the PrivacyVeil extension to activate Pro features. Each license key is valid for one user. Sharing, reselling, or distributing license keys is not permitted.

4.4 Cancellation

You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time. When you cancel:

• Your Pro features remain active until the end of your current billing period
• After the billing period ends, your plan reverts to Free
• Your protected words are preserved, but only the first 5 will be active under the Free limit
• No further charges will be made

4.5 Refunds

We offer a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase, no questions asked. To request a refund, email support@privacyveil.app with your license key or order number. Refunds are processed through Lemon Squeezy and typically appear within 5-10 business days.

After 14 days, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you're unhappy with the product, we'd rather give you a refund than have a dissatisfied customer.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use PrivacyVeil only for its intended purpose: protecting your own sensitive information when using AI chat tools. You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the extension
• Use the extension to circumvent security measures on AI platforms
• Share, resell, or redistribute Pro license keys
• Use the extension in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Misrepresent the extension's capabilities to others (e.g., claiming it provides encryption or enterprise-grade security)

6. Intellectual property

PrivacyVeil, its name, logo, design, and code are the property of Tis Enough Studio. The Free plan grants you a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable license to use the extension. The Pro plan grants you a personal, non-transferable license for the additional features for the duration of your subscription.

Your protected words, filter lists, and any text you process through the extension remain your property at all times. We claim no rights over your data — primarily because we never have access to it.

7. Privacy

Our privacy practices are described in our Privacy Policy. The short version: we collect zero personal data. Everything runs locally in your browser.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

PrivacyVeil is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Specifically, we do not warrant that:

• The extension will catch every instance of sensitive data in every text
• AI models will always preserve placeholder format, enabling perfect restore
• The extension will be compatible with every AI platform or browser update
• The extension will be free of bugs or interruptions

Pattern matching (regex-based detection) has inherent limitations. The extension may miss certain data patterns or produce false positives. You are responsible for reviewing shielded text before sending it to AI services.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Tis Enough Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss of data, revenue, or profits
• Unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information despite use of the extension
• Damages arising from AI platform changes that break extension functionality
• Damages arising from reliance on the extension as a sole privacy measure

Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to these terms or the use of PrivacyVeil shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Pro plan in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $48, whichever is less.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including consumer protection laws in the EU/EEA).

10. Consumer rights (EU/EEA)

If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you have statutory rights under consumer protection law that cannot be overridden by these terms. These include:

• Right of withdrawal: You have 14 days from the date of purchase to withdraw from the contract and receive a full refund (see Section 4.5).
• Conformity: Digital content must conform to the description provided and be fit for its intended purpose. If the Pro plan does not function as described, you are entitled to a remedy.
• Applicable law: These terms do not override mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tis Enough Studio from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the extension or violation of these terms. This does not apply to the extent that the claim arises from our negligence or breach of these terms.

12. Changes to the extension

We may update the extension from time to time to fix bugs, improve performance, or add features. Chrome handles updates automatically. We may also change which features are included in the Free and Pro plans, but we will not remove features from a plan you are actively paying for without providing reasonable notice and, where practical, a prorated refund.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, for significant changes affecting paid users, provide notice through the extension or via email (if we have your contact information through Lemon Squeezy). Your continued use of the extension after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Italy. If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence. Any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably may be submitted to the courts of Italy, without prejudice to your right to bring proceedings in your country of residence under applicable consumer protection law.

For EU consumers: you may also use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

15. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

16. Entire agreement

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Tis Enough Studio regarding your use of PrivacyVeil. They supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
